On August 31st , 2017, on the premises of the military unit in Węgorzewo (in which the 11th Mazurian Artillery Regiment is stationed) the Polish Armed Forces have officially received 20 self-propelled howitzers ‘KRAB’.
Thus HSW S.A. has completed the process of equipping the first implementation division fire module ‘REGINA’ consisting of 24 155mm self-propelled howitzers ‘KRAB’ and the accompanying vehicles delivered to the army in advance (11 staff-command/command vehicles, 6 ammunition vehicles, and 1 amraments and electronics repair workshop).
The official handing over of 20 self-propelled howitzers ‘KRAB’ was attended by: Secretary of State in the Ministry of National Defense Deputy Minister of Defense Bartosz Kownacki, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration Jarosław Zieliński, General Commander of the Polish Armed Forces gen. Jarosław Mika,
Commander of the 16th Pomeranian Mechanized Division Gen. Maj. Marek Sokołowski. There were also parliamentarians, representatives of the Missile and Artillery Missions, military academies, armaments industry, clergy, local government, former unit commanders, unit commanders of the 16th Pomeranian Mechanized Division, commanders of neighboring garrisons, combatants, inhabitants of Węgorzewo and its surroundings, Robert Gut Member of the Board of PGZ S.A. and Vice-President of the Management Board of Huta Stalowa Wola S.A .Paweł Majewski.
It is worth recalling that 155mm howitzer ‘KRAB’ is the basic element of the division fire module ‘REGINA’. In mid-December 2016 Huta Stalowa Wola and MoD’s Armament Inspectorate signed a contract for the delivery of 4 division fire modules ‘REGINA’. The contract’s value exceeds 4,5 billion PLN and is one of the largest contracts in the Polish armaments industry.
