Visitors to the September XXII International Defense Industry Exhibition 2018 in Kielce could see the most modern artillery and armor weapons from Huta Stalowa Wola S.A.
The fair, with the participation of exhibitors from around the world, began on September 4th and lasted four days. From 8th to 9th of September the exhibition was accompanied by Open Days, during which you could see, among others, the Exhibition of the Polish Armed Forces.
Huta Stalowa Wola S.A. has presented at the joint booth with the Polish Armaments Group, a New Amphibious Infantry Fighting Vehicle BORSUK (model) with a 30 mm Remote Control Tower System (prototype) and a 155 mm KRAB self-propelled howitzer.
BORSUK was equipped with elastomer tracks while on the hull of the vehicle equivalents of the overall size and mass of armor were installed. The model presented at this year’s fair is already after the start-up tests, checking the traction system and after the first attempts to swim.
The project under the code name “Borsuk” is co-financed as part of funds obtained from the National Center for Research and Development, with which HSW S.A. has concluded a contract as a consortium leader. On Tuesday, September 4th, Minister of National Defense Mariusz Błaszczak saw the HSW exhibition. The products were presented by the president Bernard Cichocki and a board member Bartłomiej Zając.
With unconcealed pride, we can say that our presentation has received enthusiastic reception of both Polish and foreign guests. BORSUK was once again the hit of this year’s trade fair.
Apart from BORSUK HSW has also presented the 155mm self-propelled howitzer KRAB which is considered the most modern and the best artillery equipment. They are a basic element of the division fire module REGINA’s equipment, which, in accordance with the agreement concluded in December 2016 between Huta Stalowa Wola S.A. and the Ministry of National Defense Inspectorate of the Ministry of National Defense, HSW delivers to the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland. The contract is the largest order in history directed to the Polish arms industry for a value exceeding the amount of 4.5 billion PLN.
Huta Stalowa Wola on the last day of MSPO 2018 exhibition has received the Statuette for the 80th anniversary of the Company’s activity, handed over to the President of HSW Bernard Cichocki by the President of Targi Kielce S.A. Andrzej Mochoń.
