On June 22nd this year, a convoy of 8 self-propelled howitzers “Krab” together with accompanying vehicles (according to 2ba 1DMO agreement), has left Huta Stalowa Wola S.A., a part of Polish Armaments Group.
The equipment, constituting the main element of the “Regina” Division Fire Modules, will go to the 5th Lubuski Artillery Regiment in Sulechów.
The delivery will take place as part of the implementation of the agreement of December 14th, 2016 between Huta Stalowa Wola S.A. and the Armament Inspectorate of the Ministry of National Defense. The agreement assumes providing the Polish Army with four division fire modules REGINA. The contract worth more than PLN 4.5 billion is one of the largest in the history of the Polish defense industry.
HSW S.A. has already started serial production of equipment for the first (and taking into account the implementation agreement – the second), Division Fire Module Regina, consisting of 24 self-propelled howitzers “Krab” caliber 155 mm. Each DFM Regina includes, apart from the fire means, also 3 Command and Staff Vehicles, 8 Command Vehicles of various levels, 6 Ammunition Vehicles, and the Armament and Electronics Repair Vehicle. The entire contract concerns the delivery of 4 DFMs, that is 96 howitzers, including command and logistics vehicles.
Today is a momentous day for our company, in which we deliver the first serial DFM to the Polish Armed Forces. This is the result of the hard work of the entire HSW SA team. We focused on the high quality of our equipment and timeliness, thus meeting all obligations resulting from the agreement for the supply of DFM Regina. With satisfaction and wishes to best serve them, we give soldiers the equipment of 8 self-propelled howitzers Krab and other elements of DFM weapons. – emphasizes Bartłomiej Zając, President of the Management Board of Huta Stalowa Wola S.A.
