On August 14, 2023, the consortium of PGZ S.A. companies and Huta Stalowa Wola S.A. signed a framework agreement with the Armament Agency for the supply of several hundred Heavy Infantry Combat Vehicles in various configurations, including those using the ZSSW-30 unmanned turret. In addition to the vehicles, the contract also provides for the supply of a logistics and training package. The basis for the work will be the well-known KRAB chassis, while the details regarding the configuration will be determined as part of the executive agreement.
The main task of the Heavy Infantry Fighting Vehicle will be to hit armored and unarmored targets, incapacitate and destroy exposed means of fire, manpower, as well as shelters and field fortifications in direct contact with the enemy. The vehicle will enable the transport of a three-person crew and 8 landing troops and will provide fire support to the transported team in all weather conditions, day and night. Designed to cooperate with armored units of the CBWP, it will be characterized by a high level of ballistic and anti-mine protection, as well as high traction capabilities.
